who we are:
Rhoda Trooboff
taught English for many years at Washington DC’s National Cathedral School and
English, English as a Second Language, and Latin in the Arlington VA Public Schools.
She is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree
from Harvard Graduate School of Education. An enthusiastic cook, knitter, reader, poet,
blogger, and amateur pianist, she mediates in DC Superior Court’s Child Protection Division,
practices t’ai chi, and reads at Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic. She and her husband Peter,
who assists in various capacities at TCP, are avid gardeners. Rhoda is a member of the Society
of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, American Independent Writers (formerly Washington Independent Writers),
and the Children's Book Guild of Washington, DC.
Carol Eliot died peacefully on January 25, 2010. Following her retirement from teaching in June 2008,
Carol worked tirelessly at Tenley Circle Press until late 2009, when illness prevented her from doing so.
Carol is sorely missed.
